“I take great delight in guiding clients, especially religious and professional leaders to new levels of potential despite the challenges, stressors, or traumas they might be experiencing. Nonetheless, the core emphasis of my work is in the area of couple relationships (premarital counseling, relationship enrichment, and infidelity). As I do this sacred work, I rely heavily on the divine force and engage a multi-theoretical framework (a combination of psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches) to address issues (past or present) that prevent clients from living and loving fully.
Having experienced both professional and relational successes and setbacks in my 55-year journey, it is easy to embody hope and identify with a wide range of individuals regardless of worldview or sexual orientation. I believe new levels of healing and inner strength are always available to all clients if they would but walk through the door. Once that courageous step is taken, our work together unfolds in the grace of the Holy.
I am a Nashville native and ordained United Methodist elder who is intrigued by the varied rhythms of seasons and cultures, especially the rich palette and peculiarities among God’s people. Although my counseling demographic is adults, I am fascinated by the antics and natural gifts of children, especially in their artistry. Aside from the tasks and joys of journeying alongside others, I find refreshment and renewal in solitude, nature walks, mindfulness meditation, sacred music, and a very special friend.”
