Dr. Hughes is a part-time staff Pastoral Counselor who serves both our Nashville and Franklin offices. He takes great delight in guiding individuals, couples, groups and religious leaders to new levels of their potential, despite the stress, trauma and challenges encountered during this life. As a former pastor, Dwight relies heavily on the divine force and uses a multi-theoretical approach (i.e. Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and Cognitive Behavioral) to address issues that prevent clients from living fully and freely.
He states, “Healing and inner resolve can manifest through a courageous commitment to the counseling or coaching process, no matter the complexities or pain. Getting through the door can often times be the challenge. However, once that happens, the rest gradually unfolds with the help of the Holy.”
This Nashville native loves people and is intrigued by nature, cultures, and faith traditions. He also marvels at the giftedness of children and is renewed by meditation, sacred music, fitness training, and jazz. Oh, and don’t forget coffee and conversations!
