Stewart is currently a counseling intern at Insight Counseling Centers, pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University. He believes in bringing a holistic approach to psychotherapy, looking at how the emotional, psychological, cognitive, relational, and spiritual aspects of our lives come to bear on the difficulties we experience as well as provide the resources we need for our individual growth and healing. Stewart also believes in creating an open and welcoming environment for his clients so that they always know they can bring themselves as they are to the counseling process.
Stewart’s background in ministry and religious education has given him a heart for those in the helping professions like ministry, teaching, counseling, and social work as well as for young adults trying to make their way in the world. In addition, he is particularly committed to helping those struggling with religious trauma, gender and sexuality issues, larger identity questions, relationships, vocational discernment and/or burnout, academic stresses, and anxiety/depression.
In his free time, Stewart enjoys cooking and eating baked goods, watching good television and college sports, and spending time with his Yorkshire Terrier, Moses.
