Today we are remembering Dan Marshall, LMFT. Dan began with us as a practicum student at Trevecca Nazarene University, and after graduating, coordinated our Franklin office. He was a gentle and kind man, committed to serving in whatever ministry was before him. We are honored to have known and worked with him, and we will miss him. He blessed not only the lives of his clients, but our lives as well.
Daniel Lynn Marshall, age 63 of Columbia, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2017 around 11 pm at NHC Maury in Columbia after a hard fought battle with cancer. Dan was a native of Straughn, IN and moved to Spring Hill in 1989 to work at the Saturn Plant (GM).
Dan worked for GM for 30 years as a machine repairman. During his service to GM he also served as a chaplain. Dan was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lewisville, IN. In recent years, he returned back to school and completed his bachelor and master degrees. After retirement, he became a Marriage and Family Therapist and was a member of American Association of Christian Counselors. He opened Life Point Counseling Center in Spring Hill and began serving people up until recently. Dan had many hobbies over the years, but one of his favorite times was riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle all over the United States.
As a young man, Dan came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His love for the Lord, his family, and for people was evident throughout his life. He loved spending time with his family, sharing his faith, and expressing God’s love as the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus. He was a former member of First Baptist Church in Spring Hill where he served as a deacon for many years and became a licensed minister. In recent years, he became an active member of the Church at West Franklin.
Dan is survived by his high school sweetheart and the love of his life of 44 years, Diana Leslie (Bowen) Marshall. Two children, Kelli June (Benjamin) Bolton of Columbia, TN and Joseph Lynn “Joey” (Rose) Marshall of Kodak, TN.
