Insight Counseling Centers Opens a New Center in Cheatham County
Therapists will provide mental health counseling services in the office located at the Church of Christ at Cheap Hill
Insight Counseling Centers is opening a new office in Cheatham County. Therapists will provide mental health counseling services in the location, hosted by the Church of Christ at Cheap Hill.
Insight Counseling Centers (Insight) is a nonprofit organization founded in Nashville in 1985. The Cheatham County office is the newest of the organization’s ten locations in Middle Tennessee. Insight’s professionally trained therapists help clients with a variety of issues: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief and loss, addiction, trauma, and stress, among others. Insight offers a spiritually-integrative approach to therapy, taking into account the client’s spiritual beliefs and faith tradition.
Insight’s work in Cheatham County began in 2022 in partnership with The Senior Center at Ashland City. A grant from the Dugas Family Foundation enabled Insight to expand services by opening the counseling office.
“We have heard time and again that Cheatham County has a shortage of mental health resources, yet such supports are needed now more than ever. Insight Counseling Centers is honored to open an office in the county. We are tremendously grateful to our generous partners who are helping us do so. The Dugas Family Foundation provided us with necessary start-up support. The Church of Christ at Cheap Hill is providing us with pro bono office space. We look forward to offering counseling on an income-based fee scale to residents of this beautiful community,” said Pam Brown, Insight’s executive director.
Josh Medeiros, therapist and regional coordinator, provides workshops and group therapy to members of the Senior Center and will see clients in the new office at Cheap Hill.
“Serving Cheatham County residents in person over the past year through our partnership with the Senior Center at Ashland City has been a privilege and a joy. I am so delighted to expand our physical presence in the community with our new office at the Church of Christ at Cheap Hill. My sincere hope is that we may extend healing and wholeness to anyone who seeks it,” Medeiros said.
The office in Cheatham County is located at 2840 Highway 12 N, Chapmansboro, TN. In addition to in-person counseling, Insight offers session online via telehealth, expanding access to life-saving care. Charitable donations allow Insight to provide counseling on an income-based fee scale.
