Therapy Group for Parents of Neurodivergent Youth

Supporting Neurodivergent Children & Adolescents
An 8-week therapy group for parents & custodial grandparents of neurodivergent youth
Facilitated by Courtney Maze, LPC-MHSP(Temp.)
Beginning Monday, March 2, 2026 at 11 am in Murfreesboro at First Baptist Church
This 8-week therapy group is designed to support parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children and adolescents through a neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based approach. Building on the same core themes as the workshop, this group offers a deeper, more personalized space to explore challenges, strengthen skills, and connect with other parents who understand the unique realities of raising neurodivergent kids.
Courtney will help participants learn how to:
- Better understand behavior as communication
- Strengthen co-regulation and relationship-based strategies
- Identify environmental supports that reduce stress and increase success at home and school
The group will also focus on strengths-based, compassionate approaches that reduce shame and power struggles while building confidence for both parents and children.
In addition to practical tools, this group provides space to process the emotional side of parenting neurodivergent children, including advocacy fatigue, burnout, and self-doubt. Parents will be supported in developing greater self-compassion, letting go of unrealistic neurotypical expectations, and building sustainable strategies that honor both their child’s needs and their own well-being.
This group is ideal for parents and custodial grandparents seeking ongoing support and guided skill-building in a safe, affirming therapeutic environment.
