Brittany's Story - Insight Counseling Centers

Brittany’s Story

"My life leading up to scheduling my first appointment with Insight Counseling was pretty strained. It was not my first time in counseling—I had been in counseling for maybe two years prior to that, but I wasn't receiving what I needed. "It was 2020, to say the least, and life was very confusing. I was having way more alone time than I had ever had, really, so I was having a lot of ruminating thoughts that were kind of eating me up. I really liked the Christian aspect of the counseling because that helped, being a Christian myself. I know that in the church, there's a lot of stigma about mental health, so it really helped that I was able to talk about that with the therapist."

"I personally have dealt with a lot of high stress at work and then experienced some changes in my personal life. I was having trouble identifying my emotions, regulating my emotions, and really setting healthy boundaries for myself. I really wasn't sure where to start, but I had two prior positive experiences with counseling, and I thought, you know, that is at least a starting place. That led me to reach back out."
