100 Days of Insight
Executive Director 100 Day Report
I recently observed my 100th day with Insight Counseling Centers. Since January 3rd, I have been meeting with agency stakeholders including staff, board members, former board members, and people who were involved in the agency’s founding 32 years ago. I quickly assessed that Insight is blessed with counselors who provide exquisite, spiritually integrated psychotherapy; a “lean and mean” administrative staff of three who approach their development, marketing, communications, and finance responsibilities with extreme dedication; an engaged and supportive board of directors; and loyal supporters and volunteers. Middle Tennessee is fortunate to have Insight as a counseling resource.
During my onboarding period, the staff, board, and I have asked ourselves, “What can Insight do to better meet the needs of the Middle Tennessee community?” I’m excited to share a “sneak peek” of what you can expect from Insight in the near future.
Intake Department
We’re launching an Intake Department! Effective May 1, 2017, Insight Counseling Centers will transition to a centralized intake department for all locations. This department will be staffed by trained Interns and Volunteer Intake Practitioners. We believe this move best ensures exceptional care for all our clients. To make a referral or schedule your first appointment, please call the department at (615) 383-2115, extension 100. The Intake Department will assist you with:
- Scheduling initial appointments
- Establishing fees for service
- Making a contribution
- Scheduling workshops for your group
- Responding to media inquiries and requests for speakers
Increased Volunteer Engagement
Insight was recently awarded a spot in Hands On Nashville’s Service Enterprise Cohort. The goal is to expand our thinking about ways we can better utilize volunteers throughout the agency. Once we have completed our work with the cohort, we will be a Points of Light-Certified Organization. We can’t wait to share more specifics about our volunteer program. Perhaps you’ll be inspired to join our team! Take a look at our volunteer opportunities.
Speakers’ Bureau
While Insight staff have always accepted invitations to speak to local congregations and civic groups, we are formalizing our efforts into a Speakers Bureau. We welcome volunteers, especially people with a passion for helping us spread the word about Insight’s important services. If that sounds like you, we’d love to have you join us. You can do so by contacting Abbie Culbertson at abbie@insightcenters.org. And don’t worry, we’ll provide training.
In Conclusion
I am grateful for the opportunity to join Insight Counseling Centers as Executive Director. It is an honor to work alongside professionals who spend each day helping to restore lives to wholeness: mentally emotionally, and spiritually.
Sincerely,
Pam Brown, ACC, CFRE
