NPT Reports Aging Matters Loneliness & Isolation

Tuesday, May 21, 2019

9:30 AM – 11:00 AM

St. Clair Senior Center
325 St Clair St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130

Decades of research have shown that social isolation and loneliness can be as dangerous to your health as smoking or obesity. On this edition of Aging Matters, we will explore how growing older can be an isolating experience and the difference between being isolated and feeling isolated or lonely. We’ll also look at innovative ways to create communities that prevent isolation and social withdrawal as we age.

Insight Counseling Centers, in partnership with Nashville Public Television (NPT), invites you to a screening of NPT’s Aging Matters series episode on Loneliness & Isolation on Tuesday, May 21st from 9:30 am – 11:00 am at St. Clair Senior Center. A continental breakfast will be provided, and an expert panel discussion with audience Q&A will immediately follow the screening. Featured panelists include Karen Potratz, MRE, LCSW, counselor at Insight Counseling Centers, Pam Pilote, Minister to Senior Adults & Congregational Care at First Baptist Church, and Jim Nunnery, MD, Retired Surgeon and Palliative Care Physician. This event is free and open to the public; however, space is limited to the first 75 registrants.

To reserve your spot, please call St. Clair Senior Center: 615-848-2550
