My name is Richard Gutierrez, and I am a pre-licensed therapist specializing in men’s mental health. I am a graduate with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I take a solution focused approach to counseling and believe in focusing on the future instead of the past. I like to encourage my clients to work on finding the exceptions to the negatives in their stories, building on those exceptions in the present, and growing with them. I believe overall counseling has 3 major sections: The first is learning who and where we are in the here and now. The second is understanding how major events of our past put us on the track we are on. Lastly, it is accepting that if our past made us who we are today, then we have the ability to make the future we want by our choices today. Because our choices today are the past for our future selves.

Mi nombre es Richard Gutiérrez, y soy un consejero pre-licenciado con la esperanza de especializarse en la salud mental de los hombres. Soy un graduado con una Maestría en Consejería Clínica de Salud Mental. Tomo un enfoque centrado en la solución de asesoramiento y creo en centrarse en el futuro en lugar del pasado. Me gusta animar a mis clientes a trabajar en la búsqueda de las excepciones a los negativos en sus historias, la construcción de esas excepciones en el presente, y crecer con ellos. Creo que el asesoramiento general tiene tres secciones principales: La primera es aprender quiénes somos y dónde estamos en el aquí y ahora. La segunda es comprender cómo los principales acontecimientos de nuestro pasado nos pusieron en el camino en el que estamos. Por último, es aceptar que si nuestro pasado nos hizo lo que somos hoy, entonces tenemos la capacidad de hacer el futuro que queremos con nuestras elecciones de hoy. Porque nuestras elecciones de hoy son el pasado de nuestro futuro.
