Religious trauma, or spiritual trauma, is the result of wounds caused by spiritual abuse. We can identify spiritual abuse by the use of coercion, control, disempowerment, or distortion of authority in the context of a faith community, whether it’s done by leadership, peers, family, or teachings. If you think you may be experiencing trauma from something that happened in your church or faith community, our counselors have special training to help you identify spiritual harm, heal from old wounds, and rediscover your goodness and strengths.

Please note: Our offices are located inside church buildings in space donated by local congregations, particularly Christian denominations. If you are not comfortable receiving therapy in a particular location, please let our Intake Department or your therapist know, and we will present alternative options.
