Sarah Grove is a full-time staff Pastoral Counselor and sees clients at Insight Counseling Centers’ offices in Nashville and Franklin.

“I enjoy working creatively and collaboratively with clients to explore ways in which lasting change can occur for individuals, couples, and families. I am committed to creating a safe, sacred, and non-judgmental environment where clients can honestly and bravely craft their personal goals and participate in their own beautiful healing and transformation.”

During spare time, Sarah enjoys running, watching films and live theatre, community organizing, and creative writing.

Workshops

Jesus and Buddha: Interfaith Dialogue

This workshop places into conversation the spiritual traditions that emerged from the teachings of Jesus and from the Buddha: Christianity and Buddhism. An emphasis is placed on the ways in which comparative exploration can enrich our experience of our own faith traditions, and also that of our clients. Material draws upon primary texts and traditions from Christianity and Buddhism, and also upon writings from comparative theologians working at the Buddhist-Christian intersection.

Introduction to Feminist Therapy

This workshop provides an introduction to feminism and explores feminist therapy interventions. An emphasis is placed on the core questions and assumptions of feminism, which undergird the therapeutic interventions. Material draws upon intersectional feminist theory (considering gender and gender expression, race, religion, ability, class, sexual orientation, etc.) and the writings of pioneer feminist therapists.

Working with LGBTQIA+ Clients and Parishioners

This workshop explores considerations for working with clients and/or parishioners in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and asexual communities. An emphasis is placed on terminology, ethical and theological considerations, and best practices. Material draws upon research, competency standards from various professional counseling organizations, and the facilitator’s personal and professional experience working with this population.
