I am a counseling intern at Insight Counseling Centers, pursuing my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trevecca Nazarene University. Driven by a deep-seated belief in the dignity of all people, I hold the therapist-client relationship to be sacred.
As Mary Pipher writes, “What really works in therapy is a real person connecting to a real person.” My approach to therapy includes a focus on this connection between myself and my clients, fostering a safe, relaxed environment where I seek to understand each person within the context of their richly layered lives. Using a blend of narrative and experiential techniques, my goal is to help clients leverage their own strengths and resilience to achieve their identified goals and live a more integrated story.
In particular, I have a focused interest in working with teenagers, young adults, and their families as they navigate the complex challenges associated with these life transitions. In addition, I have a passion for helping people who feel stuck in their anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, as well as those who have either been wounded in a religious context or are otherwise working through spiritual questions and concerns.
Outside of work, I enjoy drinking far too much coffee, reading a good book, trying new restaurants on my bucket list, and attending Nashville sporting events with friends.
